After years spent carving places out of physical space with teams of engineers and builders, it feels liberating and exhilarating to wield a brush and conjure up space, light and depth within the flat plane of a canvas.

​Mastery of a skill can be acquired with talent and time. Yet, beyond capturing likeness or composing forms from a palette of colors lies the elusive goal of creating a profound experience or inspiring a new outlook. As a house is not merely a shelter but a setting, art should seek, not merely to reflect reality, but to create it – to draw the viewer through the picture frame into an alternate world, exotic and mysterious yet somehow familiar, where a new encounter with oneself awaits.
