LIFE, STILL & SENTIENT My paintings are windows offering glimpses of an alternate reality, where beauty and splendor illumine everyday scenes, and quiet moments are dignified with reflection. In this otherworld, there is time for long walks, conversation, afternoon tea in solitude.
During this period of enforced rest, we are made mindful once more that life is a wondrous but finite gift, precious and precarious, its ending uncertain yet certain. We can learn to take our time, not save or waste it. We can sip our tea rather than gulp it down, walk the dog rather than hustle through traffic. And perhaps in time our reality may come closer to our dreams, and the pictures we paint may come to seem more like mirrors than windows. |
